World of Warcraft Legion- Review

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG made by Blizzard Entertainment. It was first released way back in 2004. Now 12 years later with Legion, it is on its Sixth expansion pack and it is still immensely popular worldwide having an active playerbase from most regions in the world.

The latest expansion Legion launched on the 30th of August in 2016 and the servers went live at around 7pm AEST. Due to the convenient launch time the Australian severs had hundreds of thousands of people trying out and leveling through the new content. Even in the US where it was around 4am they had large amounts of players logging in proving many are still interested in playing this classic masterpiece.

The expansion allows players to level up to 110 in the new continent called the Broken Isles,an increase from the cap of 100 in the previous expansion Warlords of Draenor. Initially, there were ten dungeons with patch 7.1 adding the revamped Karazhan dungeon and patch 7.2 will add the dungeon Cathedral of the Eternal Night. There are also 3 raid instances released so far with the Nighthold being the latest and the Tomb of Sargeras instance just on the horizon (and it is already being tested on the Public-Test Realms).

Artifact weapons were also added with this expansion, these are powerful weapons of legend that are unique to each class and specialization so there are a grand-total of 36 different weapons, each with its unique design and powers. Along with these powerful weapons each class get their own 'order halls' which are instances that is only accessible by each class. The player-character act as the leader of their order, leading the assault against the Burning Legion

The Demon-Hunter class is another noteworthy addition to an ever-increasing roster of classes (now 12). They get their own unique story-line to follow and the class has several unique skills and animations which are all very cool to see.

The Mythic+ system to dungeons were added to this expansion, this basically scales the dungeon content as your keystone grows in level, for example a level 3 dungeon boss will have around 20% less health and deal less damage than a level 6 dungeon boss.

Some existing classes experienced major changes. For example, Warlocks' demonology specialization no longer has the metamorphosis ability because the ability was given to demon hunters; this warlock specialization is refocused around using multiple summoned demon minions at once.

Upcoming Major match and New Raid- Patch 7.2/7.2.5

In Summary, in the Legion expansion the developers really went all out to try and deliver the best content there is, there is a lot of things to do, every class has its own unique story-lines and major content patches are being rolled out at least every 4-5 months to keep people interested.
